What is truckers rig?

A trucker's rig includes the truck and trailer that they use to haul freight. The most common type of truck used by truckers is a semi-truck, also known as a tractor-trailer or 18-wheeler. These trucks have a cab for the driver and a long trailer attached to the back for transporting goods.

The weight limit for a semi-truck and trailer is typically 80,000 pounds in the United States. A typical semi-truck has a diesel engine and can get between 6 and 8 miles per gallon of fuel. The trailer may be refrigerated to transport perishable goods, or it may be an open flatbed for transporting large or bulky items.

Truckers also have various add-ons to make their rigs more comfortable and efficient, such as custom sleeper cabs, GPS navigation systems, and electronic logging devices to track their hours of service. Safety features such as anti-lock brakes, airbags, and collision warning systems are also common on modern semi-trucks.
